Generic Cooking Game is a 2023 Roblox experience and cooking simulator developed mostly by Rongzhen "UntitledProtocol" Li and his brother known online as RatiusRat. The premise of the game is to operate a restaurant by serving dishes to customers in order to make money.

As of May 2024, the game is rated 91% from 54 thousand votes, and has 36.7M visits.

Server Types[edit | edit source]

Players have four types of servers to choose from:

  • Unranked, where customers arrive at the restaurant and the players need to make and serve dishes.
  • Ranked: Level 15. Same as above, but players have to be Rank 15 or above.
  • VC Only for anyone with access to voice chat.
  • Creative, where customers do not show up and players get to make their own custom dishes.

Map[edit | edit source]

The game takes place in a desert. The map has the Restaurant which is the centerpiece of the game, the Garage where trucks can be found and where cargo can be unloaded, and the Factory where cargo shows up to be delivered to the garage for restocking ingredients. It also has a hidden Basement.

Outside of the restaurant, there are solar panels, a parking lot, a Wish Store for buying Halloween and Christmas crates, and Hobo Joe's shop for buying a Standing Fan. There is also a

User Interface[edit | edit source]

On the top-left corner there is:

  • a UI button, for hiding all of the UI elements
  • a ? button, which shows the game's update logs
  • a Cmd button, showing all the available commands in the game.

On the top, there is a Menu button, a Recipes button, and the current in-game time in between. The game makes use of 24-hour time, so it is 13:00 instead of 1:00 PM. Right below the in-game time is the number of stars representing the restaurant's rating, and the current day number.

On the left side of the screen there is a Rewards button and a Items button. And on the right side, there is a Utensils button.

On the bottom-left corner, there is:

  • the number of stars you have
  • the amount of currency you have (in $)
  • your avatar
  • the percentage of energy you have
  • your current rank along with numerical progress for that rank.

On the bottom, there is your earnings multiplier.

On the bottom-right corner, there is the applicable controls for the game.

Mechanics[edit | edit source]

In a new server, the game starts at day 0. Days start at 0:00 and end at 23:59, because the game uses 24-hour time. Inside the restaurant, there is a chart showing the bills, bank, and net amount. Once the bills exceed the bank, the restaurant will soon close due to bankruptcy and the game starts all over at day 0.

Customers[edit | edit source]

Customers are an essential part of the game. Your goal is to server specific dishes ordered by customers to get stars, ranking points, and currency.

Recipes[edit | edit source]

At the heart of Generic Cooking Game are the recipes, which players prepare at the Kitchen and serve to customers. Each recipe has a number of stars showing how difficult it is to make it.

Mastery[edit | edit source]

Every recipe you can serve in the game starts at mastery level 0. If you serve a recipe a specific number of times, your mastery level for that recipe will increase.

Energy[edit | edit source]

Players have energy which decreases over time. Their walking speed depends on the amount of energy the have. This can be regained by drinking Coffee or sitting in the couch found in the office.

Ranking and Rewards[edit | edit source]

All players start at rank 1. Your rank increases if you do enough actions in the game. You can get rewards, such as currency and chef hats, depending on your rank.

Currency[edit | edit source]

Players gain currency over time from doing tasks in the restaurant such as serving dishes and cleaning the windows. It can be spent in crates.

Earnings Multiplier[edit | edit source]

Any action that gives you currency is multiplied by the earnings multiplier. It increases over time.

Stars[edit | edit source]

Players get a specific amount of stars when they serve a specific dish. Stars can be spent at the Wish Store outside of the restaurant.

Crates and Hats[edit | edit source]

Players can purchase crates to collect more chef hats. Hats can also be obtained from ranking rewards.

Gamepasses[edit | edit source]

The game has 4 gamepasses, which are (from least to most expensive):

  • Instant Delivery (59 robux): Allows for unlimited instant deliveries without relying on commisions.
  • Lifetime 1.5x Speed (99 robux)
  • Enlightenment (299 robux): Allows players to grab other players.
  • Manager (399 robux): Allows players to modify the opening and closing times of the restaurant and the available menu items.

Badges[edit | edit source]

  • Welcome to Generic Cooking Game!: Automatically obtained upon playing Generic Cooking Game for the first time.
  • Meet 00f_developer: Obtained when 00f_developer is in the same server as you.
  • Meet RatiusRat!: Obtained when RatiusRat is in the same server as you.
  • Meet Sky_Fox7071: Obtained when Sky_Fox7071 is in the same server as you.
  • 1 Million Visits!: This badge was obtainable for three hours when the game reached 1 million visits.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Update 1 was promised by developers all the way back in July 2023, but the game never had an "Update 1" until April 2024 when the game entered the Beta stage.
  • Private servers were free at one point, but they now cost 49 robux. Li explained that private servers cover the game's revenue.
